New Activity Area
In 2023 the GHPS P&C hosted the annual Rainbow Run and worked together with our community to raise funds for a new activity area at the school. The P&C are pleased to announce that after months of work and planning behind the scenes, we have approved a motion plus additional funding for this project to begin! We are hoping that the Activity Area will be underway by the end of 2024 but are still waiting on confirmation of schedule and timeline for the project.

Where is it going?
​The new multi use space will be situated outside the Cooke Room, where there is currently a large bare patch of ground. The P&C anticipates that this activity area will be of benefit to the whole school, as well as making this currently empty area useful and more appealing to look at!

What will the area have?
The new activity area will have 35mm buffalo artificial grass, aluminium fencing & posts, bench seats and volleyball net post sleeves.

What will it be used for?
This area will be used for sports education plus playtime. The area can be used for soccer, volley ball, badminton, tennis or other outdoor activities.

What's involved?

Preparation of the area for the new lawn, including removal of dirt and grading the area with a suitable fall for drainage.

Removal of existing reticulation.

Installation and compaction of cracker dust.

Installation of the artificial turf (approximately 212sqm).

Installation of the fencing, bench seats and post sleeves.
