Each meeting the P & C discuss where we will allocate funds. Requests can be made by the school, teachers or P&C members. 

Faction Flags

NEW FACTION FLAGS

The P&C recently contributed $2675 to purchase the new faction flags designed by indigenous Australian artist Emma Dunn and Bianca Schurman.

Traffic Wardan

CROSS WALK ATTENDANT WAGES

After many years of lobbying, this year the City of Kalamunda in conjunction with Main Roads installed infrastructure for a children’s crossing. We were very excited to employ a Traffic Warden five days a week.

Pie Warmer

CANTEEN EQUIPMENT

The P&C are currently raising funds to provide the canteen with a new Pie Warmer and thermomix bowls to improve the service they are able to offer and upgrade old equipment.

As a direct result of the generosity of the Gooseberry Hill Primary School community over the past years, the P+C have been able to fund the following projects and initiatives.

Funds to the Fathering Project, an initiative that works to inspire and equip dads and father figures to be the best parents they can be, for the benefit of the kids.

P&C committed funds to support the Early Childhood area in creating a Sensory Break Path for all students to be able to use.

Literacy Pro

LITERACY PRO​

​

Literacy Pro is a research-based, online assessment resource that provides teachers with evidence-based data so they are informed when making teaching/learning decisions to develop their students into successful, proficient readers. Literacy Pro is an upper school reading program which provides 200 new books to the school and half a year subscription

The Lexile Framework® for Reading is a scientific approach to measuring both reading ability and the text complexity of reading materials on the same developmental scale.

Reading Books

DECODABLE READING BOOKS​

​

Decodable reading books that align with the most up to date, evidence based practices for beginning reading instruction in early childhood. Deodable texts are specifically written for beginning readers as they are developing their blending and segmenting skills and their knowledge of the alphabetic code. Decodable texts support students as they practise by using a continuous meaningful text.

ECE WATER PLAY AREA​

The ECE Water Play Area which Early Childhood has been actively fundraising for, led by Mrs Newman. The P+C committed to paying the outstanding amount to ensure that the area be built and ready for early 2022.

We are very fortunate to be able to operate and offer a canteen service three days a week. The canteen is in a position where it is financially independent, with sales made through the canteen, going directly back to the operational costs.

Commemorative bricks to celebrate 50 years. This was to commemorate 50 years, outside the admin building. Families had the opportunity to purchase bricks and have their name/s engraved.
